The Scenic Group is marking its 40th anniversary this month with a fleet expansion program covering European, Indian and Southeast Asian rivers and yacht cruising through to 2028.
On the Seine, Emerald Lumi will join the Emerald Cruises & Tours fleet in 2027. Scenic will begin sailing India’s Hooghly River in 2027 and add a ship on the Brahmaputra River in 2028, while Scenic Spirit II and Scenic Spirit III will launch on the Mekong in 2028.
Emerald Yacht Cruises will add Emerald Raiya in 2027 and Emerald Xara in 2028, extending its itineraries to destinations including the Seychelles.
Scenic Ikon (pictured) will debut in the Mediterranean in Apr 2028, with Antarctica also part of its first season. Scenic Eclipse II will return to Asia Pacific in 2028, alongside the arrival of Emerald Xara.
Founded in Australia in 1986, the group now operates across all seven continents. Founder and chairman Glen Moroney said guest feedback guided its investment in ships destinations, and itineraries, and that designing, building, owning and operating its own fleet gave it ‘greater control over the guest experience’.
Anniversary functions this month include onboard dining events, themed entertainment and selected Scenic & Emerald Rewards loyalty departures. Among them are the Scenic Discovery Yachts Chairman’s Voyage in the US, with events in Wilmington, Charleston and Key West, and a Rhine and Moselle river cruise with a Switzerland extension and a Lucerne dinner hosted by group management.
In Australia and New Zealand, the group is holding events for rewards members alongside trade partner roadshows. See more on Scenic HERE and Emerald HERE.
