Clients seeking off-the-beaten-path destinations in 2027 should note Morocco’s Mediterranean region, the Madeira Islands and Mongolia (pictured) are among the top picks for next year, says Signature senior advisor Ignacio Maza’s Where to Travel in 2027 list.

The list, focuses on under-the-radar travel options, as travellers are increasingly looking for experiences that are authentic, memorable, and beyond the ordinary. “The goal of this list is to encourage advisors and travellers to widen their perspectives and consider destinations they may not have previously explored,” he says.
. . . Europe
For lesser-known destinations in Europe, Maza points to Italy’s Sardinia, with ‘pristine’ beaches and distinctive culinary traditions, as well as Portugal’s Madeira Islands, boasting volcanic peaks, scenic hikes, and a lively food scene. Wrapping up the line-up is Moro cco’s Mediterranean region, described as ‘a culturally rich meeting point between Africa and Europe’.
. . . Asia & More
In Asia, Mongolia is highlighted for its enduring nomadic traditions and centuries-old Buddhist monasteries, as well as Bhutan for experiences such as the Trans Bhutan Trail.
In the Americas, Savannah in Georgia is home to historic architecture and a thriving culinary scene, while Atlantic Canada has uncrowded coastlines, cultural heritage and natural wonders such as the Bay of Fundy and Iceberg Alley.
A little further south is Colombia, cited for its ‘extraordinary biodiversity’, as well as the river cruises now available along the Magdalena.
The Marquesas in French Polynesia make the list for its volcanic landscapes, UNESCO-recognised cultural heritage and ancient archaeological sites.
Closer to home, highlighted destinations included South Australia, noted for its renowned wine regions, the wildlife on Kangaroo Island, and the outback adventures offered across the Flinders Ranges and Coober Pedy.
