LA’s Celebrations To Mark Marilyn

Los Angeles is celebrating what would have been Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday.

To honour the great actress’ legacy, visitors can check out a range of experiences across the city.

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures has launched a new exhibit Marilyn Monroe: Hollywood Icon. The exhibit includes posters, portraits, photographs, production documents, letters and personal materials.

Classic Experiences is offering the Marilyn Monroe’s Los Angeles Tour in a convertible Cadillac, taking travellers through the significant points of Monroe’s life and death.

Between experiences, travellers can stay at the Hollywood Roosevelt, which was Monroe’s home for two years, and visit the Hollywood Museum to see treasures from her showbiz days.

Other iconic sites include the TCL Chinese Theatre, dining at Hollywood institutions Musso & Frank Grill or the Formosa Cafe and a Paramount Studio tour for a look behind the scenes.

Travellers can also try to spot celebrities at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the ‘Pink Palace’, where Monroe stayed several times throughout her career. To finish the Monroe experiences, travellers can pay their respects at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park, her final resting place. See more HERE.
