International Rail has opened bookings for 2027 Swiss scenic rail services, including the Glacier Express Excellence Class and the Bernina Express.
Demand for the premium Glacier Express Excellence Class (pictured) continues to grow, says International Rail md Jonathan Hume.
With only 20 guaranteed window seats per carriage, availability is extremely limited, particularly during peak travel periods.
He is urging agents to book interested clients as soon as possible.
“This luxury experience offers each passenger a window seat, five-star dining, onboard amenities and a personalised concierge,” he says.
It also remains one of the most popular rail journeys in Switzerland, especially given its limited capacity, he adds. Bookings for the Bernina Express, which travels through alpine scenery along the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Rhaetian Railway, are now also open up to 12 months in advance.

Hume recommends the Swiss Travel Pass as an add-on to the Swiss rail itinerary, adds Hume.
It includes travel on Switzerland’s rail, bus and boat network, including the Glacier Express and Bernina Express routes. However, panoramic seat reservations and applicable supplements are additional.
