New South Wales is pitching itself as a leader in wellness travel, which the Global Wellness Institute shows is worth almost AUD1.2 trillion globally.

Australia is the fifth largest wellness tourism market worldwide and Destination NSW’s Karen Jones says wellness is woven into NSW’s visitor experience.

“From our beaches and national parks to our food, wine, cultural and sporting experiences, NSW offers countless ways to support wellbeing. Importantly, these experiences make wellness travel more inclusive and accessible than ever before.”

Global Wellness Day’s Australian ambassador Katherine Droga says travellers are increasingly seeking experiences to slow down and reconnect both physically and emotionally.

. . . Experiences

NSW wellness experiences include the cliff-top trails in the Royal National Park, or bushwalking through the Blue Mountains.

Visitors can engage with Aboriginal communities and practices such as the Aboriginal Bush Tucker Tour or the Koori Kinnections’ Taste on Country.

Wellness retreats include Flow mOcean’s ocean-based wellness sessions in Manly, and Elysia Wellness Retreat in the Hunter Valley, and stays and restorative escapes such as the bushland Billabong Retreat near Sydney or the Sierra Escape in Budgee. See more NSW wellness experiences HERE.
