Back-Roads Touring is offering 2027 tours at 2026 prices for sales to 30 Jun, and has launched four new itineraries, as the company highlights the resilience of the Kiwi market.

New Zealand is off to a strong start, performing strongly, with double- digit growth on the 2025 financial year, however the company notes the Middle East conflict has impacted sales.
“With Price Freeze running through May and Jun we’re gunning for this to help bring that back to flat financial year on financial year [which ends in Jun], and we’re cautiously optimistic about that,” says Back-Roads touring gm Asia Pacific Anna Fawcett. “While this [offer] is focused on 2027 product, we also hope this will re-engage those who had travel planned for 2026.”
In Apr the company surveyed close to 1500 Aussies and Kiwis on its database about the impact of the Middle East disruptions on travel intentions.
Two findings stand out, adds Fawcett: “Despite the uncertainty, 62.5% of respondents said they are planning to travel to the UK or Europe in 2027, a strong sign of resilience and pent-up demand.”
“And of those still booked to travel in 2026 via the Middle East, 82% are either holding firm or actively rebooking via another flight path rather than cancelling—showing that the desire to travel remains strong even when logistics are complicated.”
Fawcett says the survey indicated Kiwis’ desire to travel ‘hasn’t gone away it’s just paused’. “Many of our customers are adapting, not cancelling, and the appetite for 2027 from customers, and trade, is encouraging.”
To that end, she says in a market where costs continue to shift, locking in 2027 travel at 2026 prices is a powerful proposition’ giving travellers the confidence to plan ahead, knowing exactly what they’re paying for, while still securing local, expertly crafted small-group experiences.
