Wendy Wu Tours has launched its biggest China & Central Asia brochure to date as Kiwi demand for the destination spikes.
The 2026-27 China & Central Asia brochure features more than 10 new itineraries, as md New Zealand Paul Dymond reports a remarkable increase in enquiries and bookings in 2026. “Visafree travel has certainly helped remove a barrier, but what we’re hearing time and time again from customers is just how surprised they are by modern China,” he says. “That word of mouth has become one of our biggest drivers of growth.”
He also reminds agents that Wendy Wu has specialised in China for almost three decades, adding ‘nobody knows the destination like we do’.
. . . Tours
The new brochure features itineraries designed to showcase China’s landmarks as well as its lesser-known regions. The 21-day China Uncovered tour explores the Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors and the Yangtze River as well as Chongqing and Zhangjiajie. Agents with interested clients are urged to get in sooner rather than later, as the 2026 departures have sold out, Dymond adds.
The brochure also reflects the growing popularity of Central Asia, new tours across destinations such as Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. This includes a 28day Journey Through Central Asia tour, which takes in all five ‘stans’.
