Organisers of the Auckland Travel Show have declared the event a success and plan to work with travel suppliers to grow the show.
Held last weekend, the exhibit attracted around 3000 attendees and featured more than 60 travel suppliers.
It was one of the first public events staged in the exhibition halls of the NZ International Convention Centre.
There was a 20-strong delegation from Sri Lanka and Helloworld represented the retail travel sector.
Organiser Lemongrass Productions director Rob Eliott says a focus for 2026 is positioning it as a premium travel event.
Eliott says he has fielded a positive response from suppliers at the show. “… sales is key for our exhibitor base and it is encouraging to hear many success stories of business writ ten over the weekend even under the shadow of murky economic and geo-political conditions.”
Suppliers contacted reported a strong calibre of consumer inquiry, particularly on the Sat.
Cultural performances and themed food and wine offerings also complemented the supplier booths.
Eliott says the company has learnt a lot from the past two years and that it will engage with its partners as it looks to grow the show.
“Many ideas are being discussed, from ticketing, to the event’s duration and key-note presentations,” he adds, noting that a key focus is now on growing attendance.
Dates for the next event will be released in the coming weeks.
