Viva Expeditions has launched a small group departure to the Galápagos Islands hosted by Kiwi broadcaster Wendy Petrie, aboard the luxury Galápagos Horizon.
“Galápagos is one of our most popular destinations at the moment,” says Viva’s Tara Sutherland, who reports strong inquiry levels from Kiwis seeking immersive wildlife experiences and destinations. “The Galápagos continues to be one of those once-in-a-lifetime journeys…”
Each of the ship’s seven cabins has a private balcony, and Viva likens the onboard experience as more like being on a private yacht charter than a traditional cruise. It is also the only trimaran sailing in the Galápagos Islands.

The itinerary includes the high lands of Santa Cruz to see giant tortoises in their natural habitat. There is also the chance to snorkel alongside sea lions, turtles and colourful tropical fish, and explore remote islands where blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds and marine iguanas thrive.
Daily guided excursions with expert naturalist guides offer insight into the region’s unique ecosystems.

The one-off departure, priced from $18,456pp t/s, includes transfers and internal flights—and planned surprises for the tour guests.
