The range, Uncommon Day Trips, has been designed to meet growing demand, while allowing travellers to partake in responsible visitation amid overtourism, says the company. Groups will have a maximum of 12 and run for two to three hours, taking travellers to lesser-known neighbourhoods while supporting local businesses and offering cultural experiences.

The Uncommon Barcelona is priced from AUD96 and visits a community garden in El Born and the neighbourhood of El Clot. The Uncommon Venice (pictured) is priced from AUD128 and takes cli ents to a Pescheria di Rialto market, and a chocolate tasting workshop.

The Uncommon Paris is priced from AUD89 and takes clients to a neighbourhood market for fresh pastries and offers opportunities to see the Eiffel Tower from unique vantage points. “These new day trips are designed to promote responsible travel in cities grappling with overtourism, responding to the high demand with a meaningful alternative,” says Erica Kritikides, Intrepid gm global experiences.

“They are proof that you can still have incredible local experiences in some of the world’s most popular destinations, going beyond the hotspots to explore a genuinely local side of the city.” New trip departures commence in Jun; see more HERE.
