If your clients think Texas is all cowboys and BBQ, this journey gives them both—and plenty more.

Travel USA’s 15-day Explore Texas itinerary starts in Houston, with a full day exploring Space Center Houston and NASA Johnson Space Center a NASA expert guide.
Pick up a rental car or go properly Texan with an F-150 pickup truck and head west to San Antonio for the Alamo, River Walk and Tex-Mex. Then swap city life for two nights at Mayan Dude Ranch near Bandera, where horseback riding, ranch activities and meals deliver a genuine Texas dude ranch experience.

Continue through Texas Hill Country via LBJ Ranch and Salt Lick BBQ to Austin for the State Capitol, live music, food trucks and a sunset kayak beneath the famous Congress Avenue bats.
Finally, head north to Grapevine for four nights, an ideal base for exploring North Texas. Discover Historic Main Street and Texas wine, then experience Fort Worth’s Stockyards, a longhorn cattle drive, Championship Rodeo and Billy Bob’s Texas before heading into Dallas for JFK history. Space. Cowboys. BBQ. And plenty in between—one memorable Texas road trip.

Beyond The Obvious
Texas with Travel USA: Photo Mayan Dude Ranch

Cowboys are hardly unexpected in Texas, but staying on a genuine dude ranch is a different story.

At Mayan Dude Ranch near Bandera, clients spend two nights experiencing ranch life, with horseback riding at the heart of the stay and meals and scheduled ranch activities included, with time to slow down and experience a different side of Texas.

Then there’s Grapevine. Rather than automatically staying in Dallas or Fort Worth, clients keep their rental car and base themselves here for four nights. Historic Main Street, Texas wine and food make Grapevine a destination in its own right, while Fort Worth is around 30 minutes away and Dallas around 35 minutes by car, making it easy to explore both without changing hotels.

Sometimes going beyond the obvious is as much about where clients stay as what they see.
