Travellers are increasingly seeking more meaningful escapes, says World Expeditions which has new experiences where travellers can see snow leopards or encounter bears.

Combining ethical, observation-based wildlife encounters with cultural immersion, the experiences are aligned with World Expeditions’ Animal Welfare Policy.
The 14-day Wild Ladakh Ancient Cultures and the Elusive Snow Leopard is led by Himalayan authority Garry Weare. Clients may view the snow leopard during the winter months, spend five nights in Ulley and work alongside expert trackers and the Snow Leopard Conservancy.

Travellers can see bears with one of Australia’s most awarded wildlife photographers, Alex Cearns, on the nine-day Photograph Laos with Alex Cearns and Free the Bears. The trip includes the rehabilitation of rescued sun and moon bears in a non-exploitative environment, as well as a walk alongside elephants at the MandaLao sanctuary and a Mekong River cruise to the Pak Ou Caves.
