Vietnam’s newest full-service airline, Sun PhuQuoc Airways, has appointed Airline Rep Services as its Australia/New Zealand GSA as the carrier flags plans to launch Australia flights early next year.
“The appointment supports [9G’s] preparations for its planned mar-ket launch in Australia and New Zealand, providing travellers with new connections to Vietnam through Phu Quoc, one of Asia’s emerging island destinations, while strengthening the airline’s commercial presence in Oceania,” it says in a statement.
Airline Rep Services, a division of CVFR Travel Group, will manage 9G’s commercial activities across both markets, including sales, marketing, trade development, reservations support, distribution, and strategic industry partnerships. “…we look forward to working together to bring our ‘resort in the sky’ experience to travellers across both markets,” says 9G ceo Nguyen Manh Quan.
. . . The Airline
9G is Vietnam’s newest full-service airline, and was launched last Nov by Sun Group, one of Vietnam’s leading private corporations.
The carrier has announced plans to expand its fleet to 32 aircraft in 2026, including the introduction of A330 wide-body aircraft from Sep, while growing its network from Phu Quoc to major destinations across Asia, including Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. It has also flagged further expansion plans to other international markets.
9G says it is ‘progressively enhancing its customer experience towards international five-star service standards, combining seamless air travel with the distinctive hospitality and destination experiences of the Sun Group ecosystem’.
. . . Local Plans
CVFR ceo Ram Chhabra says the company is honoured to represent 9G in Australasia. “This appointment reflects the confidence [9G] has placed in our team and our ability to successfully launch and grow new airline brands in the region.” He says 9G ‘brings an exciting new proposition to the market, combining premium full-service with convenient access to one of Asia’s fastest growing leisure destinations’. “We look forward to working closely with the travel trade and our distribution partners to build strong brand awareness and deliver long-term commercial success for the airline.”
Airline Rep Services says it has commenced trade engagement, distribution development, sales strategy and marketing activities ahead of the airline’s planned 2027 launch in both markets. While the carrier has confirmed plans to operate Australia flights next year, there are no current plans to operate services to New Zealand.
Details around Aussie flight schedules, sales commencement and launch activities will be made in due course, adds Airline Rep Services.
