Intrepid Travel has launched ‘Stay Intrepid,’ a new collection of properties owned by the company—and Intrepid md Australia New Zealand Brett Mitchell (pictured) has outlined ambitious growth plans for the concept, as the Intrepid group continues to evolve into a travel lifestyle brand.

The collection was launched at the Australian Tourism Exchange this week with five Australian properties that cater to clients who love local connections, off-the-beaten-track experiences and responsible travel.
The commissionable product (15%) is separate from its touring division and suited to the FIT market, adds Mitchell.
The Aussie properties include Arkaba Homestead on Adnyamathanha Country in South Australia’s Flinders Ranges (a Luxury Lodge of Australia), and Bamarru Plains Limilngan and its neighbouring Aboriginal Lands in the Northern Territory—both acquired from Wild Bush Luxury late last year.
. . . 25 More Planned
The Stay Intrepid collection also includes its Daintree Ecolodge on Eastern Kuku Yalanji Country in Queensland, Tasmania’s Edge of the Bay on Palawa Country, and Ooraminna Homestead on Arrernte Country outside Alice Springs.
Mitchell says Intrepid has ambitious plans to get to 25 Stay Intrepid properties in Australia over the next three years.
“But we are trying to be selective, because they’re small, under 40 keys, around the four-star and nature-based in locations where there’s a lot to do.”
The Stay Intrepid branding is global and also includes Intrepid’s Riyad in Marrakesh, a hotel in Vietnam and two properties in Finland.
. . . Belonging
Intrepid’s gm accommodation in Australia Richmond Sear says there’s a moment on every great trip where a place stops you in your tracks, where you stop being a visitor and start feeling like you actually belong somewhere. “That’s what these properties do, and it’s what drew us to them.”
The properties will operate under a ‘collection brand’ model. Each keeps its own identity and story but will share Intrepid values and standards.
For example, each will be connected to a locally rooted cause through The Intrepid Foundation, with donations supported through a range of activations and initiatives ensuring measurable community and environmental impact.
These properties are bookable independently. See more HERE.
