South Pacific Roadshow Success

The Treasures of the South Pacific Roadshow series has wrapped up, with Richard Skewes saying the response throughout New Zealand has been outstanding.

“The enthusiasm, engagement and genuine interest we have seen from travel advisers in every city has been exactly what Treasures is all about,” he says. The roadshows in Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington and Christchurch, had agents to hear directly from Pacific destinations, including lesser-known ones, with eight national tourism offices participating.

“What I particularly love about these events is that we aren’t simply talking about the destinations everyone already knows,” says Skewes. “We’re giving advisers the opportunity to discover places they may know very little about, meet the people representing them and hopefully walk away thinking, ‘I could sell that.’

Skewes says the success of the 2026 series is due to the Pacific Tourism Organisation and Fiji Airways, a major sponsor he says helps to continue the events.“Fiji Airways understands the value of an informed and engaged travel trade, and we are incredibly grateful to have them alongside us,” he adds.

Planning is now underway for the 2027 series, with Skewes saying he will continue building on this momentum and make 2027 even better.
