Holland America Line is extending its European season, with Nieuw Statendam to sail the destination year round and Zuiderdam to add additional itineraries.

The news comes as the cruise line reports that Europe continues to be one of the most sought-after destinations.

Paul Grigsby, HAL’s vp deployment and itinerary planning, says expanding to year-round Europe allows the cruise line to showcase a completely different side of the destination—one that is quieter, more immersive and deeply seasonal.

“From the festive charm of Christmas markets to a cooler and more relaxed Mediterranean region, winter offers a more authentic way to experience Europe.”

The expanded Europe season is anchored by a line-up of winter and early spring itineraries. These include Christmas market cruises in Northern Europe, such as the 13-day Baltic and Scandinavian Christmas Markets, sailing roundtrip ex Rotterdam or Dover, and exploring Kiel, Tallinn and Copenhagen with overnight stays in Helsinki and Stockholm.
