
A tent, a bike and some false teeth were among the stranger items left behind by Kiwis in Ubers this year, shows Uber’s latest Lost & Found Index.
However for most New Zealanders it is phones left behind, with Sats recording the highest number of lost phones across the year. Backpacks and wallets were commonly left behind, as well as keys and vapes.
Travellers were also caught out, with passports ranked as the ninth most forgotten item.
The early rise for ANZAC Day proved to be the peak for forgetfulness, with 25 Apr the day with the most items left behind.
The most forgetful hour was 2300, followed closely by 0500 and 0100.
And while Auckland once again claimed the title of New Zealand’s most forgetful city overall based on the sheer volume of items forgotten, Blenheim stole the crown for being the most forgetful place on a pertrip basis, with roughly one item lost for every 25 rides. Whangārei and Invercargill rounded out the top three.
