Outrigger Hotels & Resorts is sharing its global initiatives for World Ocean Month this Jun, its most coordinated environmental effort to date.
The move builds upon its Sustainability Report, which highlights its recent environmentally-friendly moves, including transitioning 94% of properties to bulk guest room amenities, and all properties now have water refill stations to reduce single-use plastics.
It’s also making moves through its global conservation platform Outrigger Zone, including expanded coral reef restoration efforts, man grove planting and native tree resto ration, as well as a Sculptural Coral Gene Bank with Counting Coral.

Outrigger Zone will host more than 40 initiatives across Outrigger properties in Jun to further support ocean conversation.
In Hawai‘i, these include sunrise beach clean-ups at Outrigger Kaua‘i Beach Resort & Spa, and an event at the Hawaiian Monk Seal Hospital for those at Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa. Outrigger’s Oahu properties have a Waikīkī Aquarium Keiki Ocean Awareness program just for children.
In Fiji, highlighted happenings include coral planting, beach clean-ups, crown of thorns starfish removal at Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort. Meanwhile, Castaway Island is hosting a coral gene bank snorkelling trip, a beach clean-up and fish house making.
Outrigger Maldives Maafushivaru Resort has coral planting and a sea turtle pop-up, while Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort has a beach clean-up. Outrigger Khao Lak, Koh Samui, Surin and Phi Phi Island Resort have mangrove reforestation, fish, prawn and crab releases, and seagrass planting. See more HERE.
