Hot on the heels of its latest Niue self-famil program launch, Niue Tourism is reporting another record peak period for The Rock.
“The high season period (01 Jun-30 Sep) showed an 11% growth in arrivals via the twice-weekly service from Air New Zealand.
This was also 12% ahead of pre-covid levels,” says Niue Tourism’s Hayden Porter. “This was almost 5000 more bed nights than the same period last year. Our local international spend and credit card data also backs up a record season with some very happy operators on island.”
Porter says Niue has had a great year with ‘all source markets really firing’. “The best-kept secret in the Pacific is well and truly out.”
The 2027 outlook is already positive, he adds, with an earlier start to its peak season as Apr and May have already obtained strong bookings. With that in mind, Porter is urging agents to book clients early for 2027 travel.
Next year Niue is also holding its first Ocean Swim series in Jun.

At the same time, Niue’s maritime tourism is thriving with more than 200 cruising yachts using the Niue Yacht Club moorings.
There have also been several super-yachts visiting and day visits by Silversea’s Silver Cloud and Noble Caledonia’s Island Sky in Oct.
Sarah Porter, who represents Niue Tourism and small-ship specialist Wild Earth Travel, is pictured above with the Silver Cloud (3). She says she ‘had a true meeting of both of her worlds’ when she was on Niue to help coordinate the shore excursion tour program. “Both visits were a huge success, showcasing guests as much as possible in their short time ashore in Niue”, she says, adding that both vessels will return in the first half of 2027 along with the Lindblad National Geographic Resolution.
