Japan Is Still Trending With Kiwis

Japan continues to trend with Kiwi travellers, as new data from Destination Japan shows bookings from New Zealand are up 41% year-on-year, while room nights increased 33%, for the period 01 Jul-30 Jun.

While the northern summer period had the strongest demand, the figures show interest remained steady throughout the year. A stronger NZD-JPY is also making the destination cheaper on the ground.

Infinity Holidays business leader Jo Rendall says Japan continues to resonate strongly with Kiwi travellers across multiple seasons and travel styles. “We’re seeing more travel-lers planning ahead and seeking experiences that extend beyond the traditional peak periods, reflecting Japan’s growing appeal as a year-round destination.”

Destination Japan data shows average booking lead times increasing 13% year-on-year.

Infinity Holidays marketing man-ager ANZ, Ashleigh O’Reilly, attrib-utes the demand to Japan’s unique mix of culture, food and entertain-ment, as well as its exceptional value. She reports strong Kiwi interest in city-based experiences that allow travellers to immerse themselves in local life, from exploring Osaka’s food scene, or experiencing a tra-ditional tea ceremony in Kyoto, to discovering Tokyo after dark.

Infinity Holidays has Japan land packages from $379pp in Osaka, this including three nights at Far East Village Hotel Osaka Honmachi and a one-day ticket to Universal Studios Japan. Tokyo options include three nights at Far East Village Hotel Tokyo Asakusa and a Tokyo After 5 Experience from $429pp. See HERE.
