Inspiring Kiwis To Travel Deeper In ‘27

Adventure World is encouraging agents to sell getaways with greater depth in 2027, taking clients beyond iconic sights, connecting with communities, and looking to less popular seasons.

The company’s head of marketing Elizabeth Glover says the most rewarding journeys leave room to discover a destination, such as the landscapes along the way and the people who call a place home.

“That’s what we mean by travelling more mindfully,” says Glover.

Clients eyeing up North America can add a First Nations experience, which Adventure World says offers travellers a deeper understanding of North America’s history, culture and land. The company’s seven-day Spirit Bears & First Nations Culture includes a stay at Spirit Bear Lodge, owned and operated by the Kitasoo/ Xai’xais Nation.

. . . South America

In South America, while the Galápagos is popular, Adventure World makes the case for mainland Ecuador, home to the Amazon rainforest, Andean landscapes and local communities. Its five-day Cruising the Ecuadorian Amazon explores Yasuní National Park. Wildlife lovers are recommended experiences that also involve education, such as the eight-day Snow Leopards of Ladakh, which centres on tracking the big cats in the Himalayan region with expert guides.

. . . Seasons

As well as encouraging travellers to explore a little further afield and connect with locals, agents are also being urged to recommend travel away from peak seasons.

For example, for clients keen on a Southern African safari suggest the less busy green season over Nov-Apr, which it says offers abundant birdlife and lush landscapes.

Adventure World has a seven-day Victoria Falls & Chobe journey over this time.

Winter in Yellowstone is also on the list, with snow changing how travellers move through the park and observe its wildlife. It’s seven-day Wolves & Geysers: Winter in Yellowstone includes wildlife safaris in the Lamar Valley in search of wolves. See more mindful journey inspiration HERE.
