Demand for Fiji from New Zealand shows no sign of slowing, but Tourism Fiji is still making moves to keep the destination top of mind, this week activating its FJD500,000 Fiji, Where Happiness Comes Naturally brand campaign across Australia and New Zealand.

Tourism Fiji ceo Dr Paresh Pant tells Travel Today the campaign is strategically timed to build awareness and stimulate consideration ahead of promotional offers from Tourism Fiji’s travel partners across both markets.

He says that the goal in New Zealand over the coming months is to drive awareness of Fiji and to continue increasing visitation to the destination, as well as to encourage visitor dispersal into Fiji beyond Nadi.

The current Tourism Fiji brand activity includes a media investment that will run through until Jul, with the destination to feature on streaming platforms and media sites. For travel agents, Tourism Fiji’s regional director New Zealand Sonya Lawson says the NTO will continue to work with trade partners to provide in market offers and tactical co-op campaigns with a range of retail chains, allowing for conversion opportunities.

Tourism Fiji now plans to grow its presence via events and appointments too. Lawson says a new trade partnerships manager for Tourism Fiji New Zealand is starting in Jun. There will also be an Aug Roadshow in Christchurch and Auckland, and then Matai agent famils to Fiji in early Nov.
