Fiji Airways is expanding its Christchurch services, increasing flights from three to five times a week year-round from 26 Mar next year.
FJ flights will operate Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun, in an expansion it says reflects the importance of the Kiwi market and its continued focus on responding to demand.
The additional Christchurch services will also make it easier for travellers to connect through Fiji Airways’ Nadi hub to destinations across the Pacific, Asia and North America, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Apia, Noumea, Vanuatu and Nuku’alofa.
FJ’s managing director Paul Scurrah says the increase in CHC services was an important step. “We’re excited to grow our Christchurch services and give more people across the South Island greater access to Fiji.”

Gordon Bevan, Christchurch Airport’s gm aeronautical development says Fiji has long been a Kiwi favourite. “From CHC it’s only a short flight to a fabulous destination, so having five services a week year-round allows Cantabrians to access this great destination, or the FJ wider network.”
CHC is also looking forward to its busiest international summer, with more than 1.27 million seats available between Nov and Mar, 21% more than the last peak season.
