World Journeys duo Kate Couling and Davina Bennetto recently experienced the Eastern & Oriental Express, a Belmond train firsthand, and have come home from Malaysia raving about the ‘stunning journey’, says the operator.
The pair travelled the four-day Wild Malaysia itinerary ex Singapore, exploring Taman Negara National Park and Penang Island, with highlights including the well-considered cabins and the multi-course gourmet meals and cocktails (which they say were incredible), as well as the warm and friendly service from crew.
Both also praised the ‘brilliant’ off train excursions, which included an e-bike ride to the limestone caves of Merapoh and a Malaysian cooking class, saying the guides were ‘charming, helpful and knowledgeable’.
