Emirates has started installing Starlink on the A380s in its fleet, the first of which returned to Dubai this week. The installation was completed in Newquay, UK.
EK says Starlink will improve the wifi available on board ‘a thousand-fold’, offering a better connectivity experience for customers.
EK says its customers will soon be able to stream, game, browse and work throughout their flight on personal devices.
The service will be complimentary for all customers across all cabins with easy sign up and access, it adds.
Future enhancements will include Live TV streaming over Starlink —initially on personal devices and later integrated into seatback screens.
EK has already equipped Starlink on 25 of its Boeing 777 300ER aircraft.
