Ocean cruising is at record levels globally, fuelled by significant investment and continued innovation from the world’s major cruise lines, says CLIA as its Ocean Week promotion in Australia and New Zealand continues.
“There are now 89 new cruise ships on order from shipyards around the world, each set to bring new experiences, innovations and excitement when they enter service over the coming years,” says CLIA md Australasia Joel Katz. “Together, these ships represent an investment of almost USD100 billion, reflecting the enormous enthusiasm for cruising among travellers around the world.”

CLIA’s Cruise Month promotion includes a social media campaignf aimed at new-to-cruise travellers as well as established cruising fans. CLIA member agents are encouraged to use its Cruise Month toolkit which includes the latest cruise line promotions and opportunities.

This year’s Cruise Month weekly themes are Ocean (04-10 Oct), River (11-17 Oct), Expedition (18-24 Oct) and Luxury (25-31 Oct). Under the banner #LoveCruise, CLIA is also showcasing the diversity of cruise lines and experiences available in each cruise category, and highlights the advantages of booking a cruise through a CLIA certified travel agent, it adds.
