Bucket list and expedition-style travel is a growing trend, says Inspiring Vacations, which reports a growing in demand for nature and wildlife experiences in particular.
“New tours such as our longer South African itineraries and Antarctica fly stay cruise packages have been designed for travellers seeking once-in-a-lifetime journeys,” it says.
The company says its 17-day Quest to Antarctica with South America Fly Stay Cruise has seen an 82.32% increase in enquiries, and a 455.56% booking increase in Jan and Mar this year. Meanwhile its enquiry for its 14-day Highlights of Antarctica Exploration Cruise is up 84.54%. Forward planning has also strengthened, says Inspiring Vacations, with bookings for 2027/28 travel up 56.4% since 01 Mar, alongside anecdotal strong interest in 2026 departures. Last-minute bookings have softened since 01 Mar, sitting around half the volume, which is expected for travel with Inspiring Vacations within 90 days.
The company has also added new tours such as a 20-day Follow the Lights to the Baltics where clients can chase the Northern Lights from Finland to Norway, and sleep under the stars in an Aurora or Gamme cabin, including a five-night trip on the Hurtigruten Coastal Express.
