Bhutan’s Wellness Experiences

Bhutan offers a range of wellness activities where travellers can immerse themselves in the culture, landscapes and spiritual experiences, says the Bhutan Department of Tourism.

The Himalayan destination has yoga opportunities ranging from mountain views to sunrise yoga within a Bhutanese Dzong or temple. There are yoga retreats and yoga centres across the country’s major towns. See more HERE.

For those seeking tranquillity, travellers can visit the iconic monastery Punakha Dzong, the second oldest and second biggest Dzong in Bhutan. It is known as the Palace of Happiness and is the administrative centre of the district. Alternatively, travellers can visit the Gangtey Monastery dedicated to the teachings of Buddhism. Treks through Bhutan allow travellers to find restorative retreats in nature, from challenging adventures to gentle strolls. The Trans Bhutan Trail spans 403kms from Haa in the west to Trashigang in the east and can be hiked or biked. It connects nine traditional fortresses. See HERE.
