Avalon Waterways is launching three new 2027 Cruise & Tour itineraries that combine a Globus tour with an Avalon river cruise.
The river cruise line says travellers are increasingly looking to maximise international trips, to experience multiple countries and cultures.
“Travelling across multiple countries is one of the most rewarding things you can do – and one of the most complicated to plan,” says Avalon president Pam Hoffee. “Globus handles every transfer, every hotel and every detail on land while Avalon takes care of everything on the river.”

The new Cruise & Tour itineraries include the 17-day Essential Britain & Ireland with Romantic Rhine, which combines castles, cobblestones, and the green hills of Ireland with a voyage on the Rhine with highlights including medieval towers and the Rhine Gorge. The 16-day The Best of Spain with Paris & Normandy has the art of Madrid and Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia, followed by a sailing on the Seine.
There’s also a 17-day Italian Vista with Romantic Rhine with two nights in Lucerne that spans five countries, starting with Italy’s Colosseum, gondolas and Grand Canal. Switzerland follows with two nights lakeside in Lucerne before boarding the Avalon Suite ship for the Black Forest, Strasbourg’s rose-red cathedral and the Rhine Gorge’s ancient castles.
