The Victorian airport has joined Brisbane and Sydney airports in the digital trial. It’s the third phase of the pilot program which launched in Oct 2024, and open to eligible passengers flying into MEL on flights QF154 ex Auckland and QF178 ex Queenstown.

QF’s chief technology, AI and trans formation officer Rachel Yangoyan says since the concept launched there’s been more than 380,000 digital declaration submissions through the Qantas app, with the response deemed ‘incredibly positive, she adds.

. . . How It Works

Passengers on the above flights will be able to complete the declaration up to 72 hours prior to travel, and once completed, will be e-mailed a digital pass containing a unique QR code that must be presented to border officers upon arrival, expediting processing. They will not need to fill out a paper incoming passenger card. See more HERE.
