An Egypt Expansion For AmaWaterways

AmaWaterways is expanding its Egypt program in response to growing demand, especially in the luxury sector.

By the end of the year, the cruise line will have three ships sailing the Nile. AmaLilia will be joined by the re-imagined AmaDahlia in Sep, and the new AmaNubia is afloat in Nov.

AmaWaterways ceo Catherine Powell says the line is thrilled to see such strong renewed interest in Egypt, adding that the response from guests and the agents who have experienced Nile cruises this year has been ‘extraordinary’. “With AmaNubia, we’re continuing to elevate the guest experience through beautifully designed ships, enriching experiences led by expert Egyptologists and partnerships with some of Egypt’s most prestigious hotels, creating a seamless luxury journey from the moment guests arrive in Cairo to the end of their cruise.”

The new AmaNubia will be a ‘half-sister’ to AmaLilia, offering many of the same venues and amenities, but with its own distinctive layout and design, which will be inspired by ancient Egyptian and Nubian culture.

The ship has 38 staterooms and suites, with amenities including a wellness area with spa services and a fitness centre. She will sail the 11-night Secrets of Egypt & the Nile itinerary, which combines a luxury Nile river cruise with hotel stays in Cairo. Those aboard AmaNubia will stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence. AmaLilia guests stay at The St. Regis Cairo and AmaDahlia guests at The Ritz-Carlton.

The Egyptian expansion will continue into 2027, with AmaCleo set to join in the second half of the year. See more HERE
