Delta Air Lines’ route between Los Angeles and Auckland will be the first on its global network to offer a new era of its top-tier dining and hospitality.

It has made its biggest and most holistic redesign of its Delta One program in 30 years, which a DL chief says gives travel agents much more to offer clients.
DL vp Asia Pacific Jeff Moomaw says the A350-900 aircraft returning to AKL at the end of the Oct is the most premium-heavy jet in its fleet.
Based on two decades of customer insights and backed by the airline’s largest investment to date, the refined Delta One was ‘meticulously designed, spanning thousands of touchpoints and delivering an unmatched journey’. He says the revamp is more than about a new food and beverage menu for Delta One. “The service offering from our flight attendants is going to be next level, something that’s just not matched easily by the other carriers.”
Its Delta Sync wifi for all passengers is expanding across transpacific routes starting from Oct, with the availability of a new satellite.

. . . Trade Commitment
While more than half of DL’s bookings are direct, Moomaw says the trade is important for the airline.
“We want everyone who distributes Delta product. Some carriers take a very different approach to this.’’
He says agents are important in every geography for the airline that last year carried more than 200 million passengers.
. . . Product Testing
More than 200 DL flight attendants and other staff helped shape the new DL experience over 14-plus months.
There were 36 dedicated trial flights.
The insights influenced everything from redesigned service to the development of new tableware. Refreshed amenity kits will also be rolled out.
DL says it will offer more personalisation and allow passengers to order meals up to 18 hours before departure.
