Agents Explore Niue

A Kiwi trade group recently returned from an action-packed three-days in Niue, where they snorkelled in ‘gin clear’ waters, hiked the island’s rugged east side and swam in an underground chasm, saw giant coconut crabs and even went stargazing.

On the famil, hosted by Niue Tourism, Scenic Matavai Resort and Air New Zealand, the group explored the island’s accommodation, visited a local plantation and ate what they declared was the best fish sandwiches ever at Washaway Cafe.

Niue Tourism’s Hayden Porter says while it was only a short stay, the trade team got a great overview of all that Niue offers.

Rick Felderhof from Our Pacific says he came away with a very clear and practical understanding of what Niue offers as a holiday destination, and just as importantly what it doesn’t. “For me, the real highlights were the sense of community, the food, and the rugged landscape,” he says. “All wonderfully distinctive and quite different from other Pacific Islands.”
