Visit California has some top tips for clients bound for Six Flags Magic Mountain, which holds the Guinness World Record for the most roller coasters in a single theme park, ensuring that those with just one day get the most out of the experience.
Tip one is to visit on a weekday in late winter, spring, or early fall, when wait times for major coasters drop from over an hour to as little as 15 minutes.
There’s a Fast Lane Pass that Visit California says is ‘absolutely worth it’ to cut down on wait times, with upgraded versions like the Fast Lane Reserve and the Fast Lane Ultimate offering even more flexibility and speed.
Those looking for the smoothest possible experience can also book VIP guided tours, which include perks like priority park entry, front-of-the-line ride access, dining inclusions and personalised assistance throughout the visit.
As for which of the 20 roller coasters to prioritise, must-do options include the X2 which is considered one of the most extreme coaster experiences in the world, rotating riders independently while the track twists below them.
There’s also Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage, the world’s tallest and longest single-rail coaster, Twisted Colossus which is famous for dueling trains and sudden inversions, and the massive hypercoaster Goliath, known for speeds approaching 136 kilometres per hour (pictured).
Also recommended is Superman: Escape from Krypton, flying coaster Tatsu, the ‘re-ridable’ West Coast Racers and inverted coaster Batman: The Ride.
