CLLIX Apartments and Hotels is seeing a clear and growing preference for apartment-style accommodation from Kiwis travelling to Australia.

Shankar Kotha, CLLIX head of commercial says the shift is driven by a combination of value, flexibility and comfort.
“Kiwi travellers often travel in families or small groups, and apartment hotels offer more space than traditional hotel rooms, full kitchens and laundry facilities,” he says.
“There’s also a growing preference for self-sufficient travel, where guests want more control over their stay experience. Apartment hotels deliver exactly that.”
Popular CLLIX properties for Kiwis include Brisbane’s CBD and South Bank, Gold Coast locations and the Melbourne CBD.
“These destinations align closely with the Kiwi travel pattern—short-haul, high-frequency trips with a mix of leisure and family travel,” Kotha says.
“New Zealand is a key focus market for CLLIX and we see significant opportunity to grow further.”
. . . Future Openings
Next up for CLLIX is a series of pro jects, including the CLLIX Brisbane Central Apartments, the first property with 100% hotel inventory under the CLLIX Brand.
New properties in Adelaide will be coming on-line, and there is an additional pipeline of opportunities across major Australian cities which will be shared in the coming months.
“Our focus is on scaling quality inventory in locations that resonate strongly with both domestic and international travellers, including the New Zealand market,” Kotha says.
CLLIX is in a strong growth phase, he adds. “We’re also seeing strong momentum in performance.”
