AmaWaterways: 50++ Ships On The Way

AmaWaterways has revealed plans to significantly expand its fleet in the coming years, with an end goal of more than 50 ships by 2032.

The company’s ceo Catherine Powell says it is enjoying is strong demand across both established and emerging markets. The expansion will add 15 new ships in Europe—including the eight AmaWaterways ships already announced. It will also put another ship on Africa’s Chobe River and two new ships on the Nile in Egypt.

Locally, md for Australia and New Zealand Steve Richards says this fleet growth helps AmaWaterways meet strong demand for some of the world’s most popular river cruise destinations, while opening up even more ways to explore from Europe to the Mekong and Africa.

Highlighted new ships will include AmaNubia (pictured) launching on the Nile in Sep, the AmaRudi which will debut in 2027 as the line’s second double-width ship on the Danube, and the Mekong bound AmaMaya, also launching in 2027.

AmaFiora will debut on the Rhine in 2027, followed by AmaClara on the Rhône and AmaGaia on the Douro, both sailing from 2028, with AmaCleo to also make a debut in 2028 on the Nile River. Further details are yet to come on the new addition as. See more on the cruise line HERE.
