The new Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) gives Kiwi business travellers access to one of Australia’s fastest-growing economic regions, says Angie Forsyth, gm of Corporate Traveller New Zealand.
The firm specialises in SME business travel and says it’s exciting to have another gateway into Sydney, its most popular international destination.
Located in Sydney’s rapidly growing western corridor, WSI provides direct access to key commercial centres including Parramatta, Liverpool and Penrith, reducing the need for some travellers to cross the city from SYD. Western Sydney is home to a rising number of businesses, major infrastructure projects and commercial centres.
. . . Leisure Option
Forsyth says that over time the airport will also give travellers more flexibility when planning business trips across Australia and beyond. Air New Zealand began hrice-weekly flights between Auckland and WSI airport Mon.
“Whether travellers are heading elsewhere in Australia or connecting on to international destinations over time, another airport brings added flexibility,” says Forsyth.
The airport’s location could also appeal to business travellers looking to combine work and leisure.
WSI opens a new part of the city, with attractions like the Blue Mountains within easy reach.
“Additional capacity should also help ease pressure on existing airport infrastructure at SYD, and help create a smoother experience for travellers,” she says.
