Speaking to Travel Today, gm Jon Perrett (pictured) says Air Adventure Golf offers agents a different way to experience some of the world’s best coastal golf courses, thanks to its two Swiss-built Pilatus PC-12 private aircraft, and it’s an easy sell as the company will do all the work.

“Travel agents working in New Zealand, all they need to do is find the golfer, promote the package and work with us on a date, and we take care of the rest,” he says.

. . . Tassie

There are two ‘core’ Tasmania products that he recommends for Kiwis, both commissionable at 10%.

The first is The Ultimate Barnbougle and King Island, a four-day trip that combines 36 holes at Barnbougle Dunes/Lost Farm with 18 holes at Cape Wickham and 18 holes at King Links (formerly Ocean Dunes), with private flights and three nights’ accommodation included.

The other option is The Big Five, a similar package that features an additional night and 18 holes at 7 Mile Beach. Agents can tailor trips to suit clients. Perrett says eight is the ‘magic number’ for groups, but that it can cater for up to 16 across two aircraft, down to groups of two.

. . . Support

Perrett encourages Kiwi agents to reach out and ‘piggyback’ off his expertise.

The company offers consultants the ability to create itineraries with their own details featured. “For the land packages, they can make it look like they’ve put it all together, we’ll do all the work in the back end for them,” he says.

The company now offers trips to courses in New Zealand such as Te Arai, Cape Kidnappers, Kauri Cliffs and Jack’s Point. In Australia, it will soon expand to include The Cliffs on South Australia’s Kangaroo Island (set to debut 16 Nov).

Its point of difference, says Perrett, is that Air Adventure Golf will offer direct air access to this course from Melbourne. This allows Kiwis to opt for a two-day experience just playing The Cliffs or add it to the seven-day Great Southern Links that features the Tassie courses. Perrett’s top tip for Kiwi agents is to book at least six, if not 12, months, in advance, with Apr-May worth recommending as the wind drops over this time. See more on the product HERE.
