American Airlines has launched its first retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER, featuring what it says are the most premium seats on an aircraft operated by any US carrier.
As AA rolls out its Flagship Suite product, its Flagship First will no longer be available on 777-300ER aircraft for travel beginning 19 Nov.
“Our Flagship aircraft represents the next evolution of premium travel at American,” says AA’s chief commercial officer Nat Pieper.
AA’s 777-300ER fleet of 20 aircraft operates on the airline’s most popular long-haul routes to London, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Sydney.
AA is part of the move by many airlines to more premium seating areas than ever before, now with 144 premium seats on its refitted 777s.
The newly retrofitted aircraft has 70 suite seats with privacy doors, more personal storage space and a unique chaise lounge seating position. It also features 44 premium economy seats, redesigned with sculpted headrests, adjustable calf and foot rests and enhanced storage, plus 30 extra legroom seats in main cabin extra.
AA operates more than 6000 daily flights to more than 350 destinations in more than 60 countries and serves more than 200 million customers annually.
