Walk For Good With G Adventures

The strength of the travel industry’s collective impact was highlighted recently, when 140 members braved the elements in Australia and New Zealand for G Adventures’ inaugural Raise The Community 10-kilometre walk, raising funds for non-profit Planeterra.

The community walks were held across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland, with some joining remotely from destinations including Christchurch and London.

G Adventures md ANZ Sean Martin says it was incredibly inspiring to see so many of the operator’s team, travel agent partners, suppliers, friends and family step up in rain and shine and across different time zones to support Planeterra. “We’re 2 incredibly grateful to everyone who walked with us and helped turn a simple 10-kilometres into something that will have a lasting impact,” adds Martin, who joined the Brisbane walk, while G Adventures founder Bruce Poon Tip joined in from London. The funds raised will go to Project 300, G Adventures and Planeterra’s joint mission to uplift 300 communities through community tourism by the year 2030.
