UK airport operator MAG will keep stocking skincare face masks and selling matcha across its airports to cater to the rising number of Gen Z passengers passing through, who appear to care more about wellness than all-day breakfasts and beers.
MAG owns Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands Airport and reports that sales of products popular with Gen-Z have soared in its terminals. This also includes a six-fold increase in giant Stanley Cup purchases in 2025, it adds.
. . . Mask Sales Soar
As the skincare in the sky trend takes off, the trio of airports has reported that sales of face masks sold by Boots and World Duty Free have increased by 399% year-on-year. At the same time collagen and retinol-based products are also proving popular with the on-line generation. The top retinol-based product by Elizabeth Arden is seeing a 1500% growth in airport sales, it adds.
. . . Smoothie Moves
Dining preferences are also changing, says MAG, noting matcha sales are up 165% year-on-year. At the same time Innocent Energise and Defence smoothies are seeing a collective growth in sales of more than 650% year-on-year.
