Courtney Joins World Travellers Board

World Travellers has appointed Victoria Courtney as an independent director, a move it says will strengthen its governance given her ‘deep commercial expertise and a proven track record across the travel, corporate, and product sectors.’Victoria Courtney

Courtney, the former Flight Centre Travel Group New Zealand boss, has extensive experience in leadership and partnership management. Having had a strong relationship with World Travellers previously, the cooperative says she brings ‘a rare combination of financial insight, commercial capability, and industry understanding’. “Her background spans financial management, corporate strategy, product development, and commercial negotiation, experience that aligns directly with World Travellers’ strategic goals.”

“[Courtney] is a natural fit for World Travellers,” adds the cooperative’s chair Wendy van Lieshout, “She understands our model, our members, and the commercial environment we operate in. Her governance experience and strategic clarity will be invaluable as we deliver on our exciting plans for the future.”

World Travellers, which was founded in 2010, has implemented a refreshed strategic plan, which it says is focused on commercial leverage, member productivity, brand evolution, and aligned membership growth. It also includes the appointment of Jodie Burnard in its new full-time general manager role.

Courtney says she’s thrilled to join the board at such a pivotal time. “World Travellers has a clear vision and a strong sense of identity. I’m looking forward to contributing to the next chapter of growth and supporting the cooperative’s members as the industry continues to evolve,” she adds.
