Three new ships will join the Uni world fleet in 2028 in addition to the four new ships set to join the fleet in 2027.

The S.S. Helen, S.S. Clara (pictured above), and the Mekong Mystique, will expand Uniworld’s fleet to 22
vessels, while further elevating its ‘signature boutique river cruise experience’ on the Danube, Rhine and Mekong rivers, says Uniworld. “This is one of the most significant periods of investment and growth in Uniworld’s history,” says the cruise line’s president and ceo Ellen Bettridge.

“As demand for immersive travel continues to grow, every new ship we build allows us to continue raising the bar for luxury river cruising,” she adds. “It’s also an opportunity to create deeper, more meaningful connections between our guests and the destinations we sail.”

. . . New Ships

Each of the new ships is designed to draw inspiration from the art, history and culture of the region it sails in.

The addition of the new Mekong Mystique in 2028 will add much-needed capacity in South East Asia. It will join the Mekong Jewel, sailing Uniworld’s often sold-out itinerary.

The new ship embraces Indochine design and is said to combine refined European architectural details and natural materials reflect the heritage and landscapes of Vietnam and Cambodia.

In Europe the S.S. Helen (named after Helen of Troy) will operate on the Danube embracing ‘the philosophy of Mediterranean elegance’. She will sail itineraries such as the 15-day Danube Grandeur.

The SS Clara (named after Flemish painter Clara Peeters) will sail on the Rhine, featuring vibrant florals, elegant textures and refined European craftsmanship. The ship will debut on Holland & Belgium at Tulip Time, a seasonal guest favourite itinerary. See more on the ships HERE.

. . . 2028 Sales Open

Uniworld’s 2028 season is open for sales, allowing travellers to reserve sailings on board its newest ships.
The cruise line says the inaugural voyages and popular itineraries are expected to be in high demand, adding that ‘early booking offers guests the best selection of departure dates and suite categories’.
