AmaWaterways has revealed the first images of what it claims will be Europe’s largest river cruise ship, the double-width AmaRudi, a sister ship to AmaMagna.
The 196-guest ship will sail the Danube from early 2027, with its point of difference being the extraordinary amount of personal space’ it offers guests.
Rudi Schreiner, co-founder and chairman of AmaWaterways and also the ship’s namesake, says AmaMagna changed what travellers believed was possible on a river cruise ship.
“We knew there would be a right time to revisit that concept, and with river cruising continuing to grow, that time is now,” he says. “More travellers are making the transition from ocean cruising to rivers, and many are looking for a sense of space and choice.”
AmaWaterways ceo Catherine Powell says the moment AmaMagna launched, travellers and travel advisors have been asking if the cruise line would ever build another ship like her. “AmaRudi reflects our confidence in the future of river cruising and our continued commitment to innovation.”
As well as 98 staterooms and suites, the new vessel will house multiple dining venues, including Journey’s Restaurant and The Chef ’s Table specialty restaurant.
Guests will also find an expansive wellness area, which includes a variety of fitness classes while
wellness programming, and a new entertainment venue will feature a cinema, karaoke, billiards and a jukebox.
AmaRudi will operate some of AmaWaterways’ most popular Danube itineraries, with further details to be announced over the coming months. Keep up HERE.
