Brisbane Airport says it is planning two new hotels to meet the rising demand from business, leisure and event-driven travel ahead of the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane.

Hotel operators have been invited to submit proposals for hotel management opportunities. The airport already has three hotels, which it says are ‘constantly at capacity’.

One new hotel site will be located adjacent to the International Terminal and a second at the fast-growing Skygate retail and entertainment precinct. The proposed mid-to-upper level hotel will be the first to directly ser vice the International Terminal and will be adjacent to the multi-level carpark.

The second will provide a select service for a mid-level hotel, positioned next to the existing DFO, Lander’s Pocket and other stores including a 24/7 Woolworths.

“Long-term, Brisbane requires thousands of new hotel rooms ahead of the 2032 Olympics and so we’re highly confident the airport can support five hotels,” says BNE executive gm commercial Scott Norris.
